Make a holiday apartment in Igueste de San Andres your home away from home

Holiday homes in Igueste de San Andres are set in a lovely former fishing village in a natural part of the island. The mass tourism of the southern coast is nowhere to be seen here. Visitors can set off for remote beaches, explore historic cities or hike through valleys with lush tropical forest. See also our choice of holiday rentals in San Andres, just next door.

In this part of Tenerife it won’t be hard to unwind, but holiday apartments in Igueste de San Andres make it even easier, providing guests with plenty of outdoor space and unbroken views of the ocean. This makes them ideal for a romantic getaway. Both the Anaga mountains and world-class beaches are within walking distance. Accommodation here has all the appliances of a 21st-century home, with wi-fi, satellite TV and fully appointed kitchens and bathrooms.

Things to do

-Beaches: Guests will be moments from one of the Canary Islands’ truly outstanding beaches. Las Teresitas is nothing short of gorgeous, with a 1.5-kilometre-long sweep of golden sand bathed by tranquil, crystalline waters. In the background is a palm-lined promenade and beyond that are nothing but steep, rugged peaks, creating an unforgettable scene.

-Outdoor recreation: The Anaga range is protected as a natural park, and surrounds the village of San Andres on three sides. The tallest mountains here reach just above 1,000 metres and the range is famed for its humidity, which nourishes a spectacular variety of plantlife. In the Afur Valley for instance, there are forests of juniper trees, some of which are ancient, with thick, gnarled trunks.

-History: Just next to Santa Cruz is the stunning former capital, San Cristóbal de la Laguna. This city is a UNESCO site for a special reason—its charming renaissance street plan, laid out in the early-1500s, would be the template for a whole host of cities established in the Americas from the 16th century onwards. There are lots of beautiful old churches to see, as well as grand public and private buildings, all well looked after. To experience all the colour and life of a thriving city, consider a holiday apartment in Santa Cruz de Tenerife City.

-Natural sights: Tenerife’s volcanic geology affords it plenty of exciting things to see. It might be cliffs, ravines, a hollow lava tube, caves or, of course, El Teide. This is the name of the gigantic volcano that sits at the centre of the island. The snow-capped peak is 3,718 metres above sea level, but fortunately there’s a cable car that runs close to summit. At the upper station there are panoramic viewpoints for memorable vistas of the island.

-Excursions: Igueste de San Andres has a convenient location, in that the north of the island is just as accessible as the south. It means guests can experience Tenerife’s untamed nature, volcanic majesty and handsome old cities, as well as its sumptuous beaches and bustling resorts. Make for Puerto de la Cruz for Loro Parque, a modern zoo and Tenerife’s most popular family attraction.

Weather in Igueste de San Andres

Igueste de San Andres holiday apartments are in a part of Tenerife with a microclimate thanks to the influence of the Anaga Mountains. Here the climate resembles that of the south of the island, where there’s little by way of rainfall throughout the year and consistently warm temperatures in winter and summer. From November to April the weather resembles a warm spring day in the UK, with highs in the low-20s. In the summer season things are a little warmer, with temperatures peaking between 24 and 28?C.

Travel to Igueste de San Andres

As Igueste de San Andres holiday homes are in quite a remote part of the island most guests would benefit by hiring a car. The closest airport is Tenerife North (TFN), which handles mostly domestic Spanish flights. For holidaymakers from the UK the port of entry will be Tenerife South (TFS), which receives a wealth of flights, mostly with low-fares carriers. This airport is an hour away by road, but the trip is an easy one as the TF-1 highway extends along the eastern coast of the island.

Beautiful holiday and studio

5 of 5
I just want to thank you May for the kindness and disponibility you had. The flat was absolutely lovely warm and really welcoming. we had our welcome with prosecco bottle and fruit. The balcony with the view to the sea was amazing expecially in the sunset. The flat is refurnished of everything you need with towels, phon, dishes, glasses, moka, coffe machine and more. The bathroom new and very clean as all the apartment. the only two things are missing is the washing machine and the oven. But we didn't need it becouse we enjoied the lovely fresh local vegetables and fruit and also the amazing sea food. The building is furnished of a beautiful and relaxing natural pool with sea water. and just down the building there are three restaurant of sea food, bar and minimarket, another minimarket just at 5 minuts of walk in the little village. I would suggest to rent a care anyway because we enjoyed to go for every beach and coast of the wonderfull island. I will for sure come back in this lovely apartment!!!

Reality is as good as the pictures!!

Lovely villa, loads of space, spectacular views which you just can't stop looking at. Weather wasn't brilliant for half of the week which is where the hot tub came in to it's own. Car is essential although there are 2 restaurants about 7 minutes walk away, albeit up hill, but easy going home. Good food at both and excellent wines at Casa Del Vino, which has a wine tasting room and option to buy the wines, and at reasonable prices, again views from both are stunning. A couple of miles away is Taccorante where you can go and get all your supplies and it even has a Lidl, again so cheap. We travelled to Puerto Del La Cruz which is only 20 mins away in the car and it is lovely, great atmosphere, plenty of shops and an old part to have a look around, thoroughly recommend a visit. Will visit again for definite. Thanks to Ana, the owner, nothing was too much trouble, we didn't have enough wine glasses so mentioned it to Ana and by that night we had a new set of 6. Perfect!
