If you want to feel a bit pampered but not spend a lot, this is for you! The villa is a real gem. It is well placed for easy accessibility to the airport, close to the resort of Los Gigantes, but feels tucked away in a quiet spot. There is plenty of space, both indoors and outside and the pool area is wonderful, being west facing with sea views and a great place to watch the sun set over the island of Gomera.
We were very comfortable here. There is a good choice of sitting areas and the villa is well equipped. The paths are swept clean of falling leaves and blossom every few days and a large bunch of bananas from the plantation was left on our doorstep for us to enjoy!
If you like exploring by car, the property is well placed for going north and driving on the exciting, narrow but well maintained mountain roads.
We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this villa.
We had a blissful two weeks over Christmas and New Year at this lovely detached cottage. Stunning surroundings and great weather! Juan met us and gave us a very warm traditional welcome. Despite the fact that we had little knowledge of each other's language, we communicated brilliantly! During our stay we met Carmen and her husband (the owners) - all lovely people and they made sure we were completely happy during our stay. The cottage itself has so much character, inside and out. It was very clean and comfortable. It's situated in a fairly low key resort of Puerto de Santiago, quite high up on the hillside. Each double room has a terrace - you can almost touch the bananas from the terrace! The trees provide plenty of shade, the birdsong is a pleasure to hear and there is plenty of room for a family of 4. I must mention the barbecue which my husband loved. We used it often and if you enjoy barbecuing, this one has a metal grid with a pulley, which you can lower and raise. Great to use. There is a larger property neighbouring this cottage which is also used for lettings. The pool is situated the other side of this property and is shared arrangement. Easy access to pool and ample room for comfort and enjoyment around the pool - plenty of sunbeds, beautiful garden and ocean views.
This area merges with Los Gigantis on the north side and Playa de Arena on the south - all towns are 2 minute drive from the cottage. Plenty of bars, restaurants and supermarkets. You can walk to Puerto Sandiego in 10 minutes. There's a great bar, 10 minute walk, above the Supermarket ( at the first island) owed by Jose where you can sip a glass of wine and look out at the ocean. There are plenty of other supermarkets, Lidl and Mercedonas. The wine and cava around 3 euros a bottle. If you are looking for nightlife and tourist traps this is not the place. My 19 year old daughter and her boyfriend came for the first 6 days and we did plenty of trips to Playa de las Americas! Despite the fact that this place is far too touristy for us, we had a very enjoyable day on the beach with them and safe swimming. Los Cristianos has a lovely promenade with bars. Inland and towards Mount Teide there are plenty of walks and mountainous drives. Highly recommend Masca and the island Gomera. My husband did an Enduro biking day starting at Playa de las Americas. A great holiday and we will definitely return here one day. Thank you Carmen
