Things to do

-Beaches: The southern tip of Tenerife boasts fully equipped sandy beaches with activities for young ones, watersports for older kids and peaceful relaxation for grown-ups. Ten minutes from Golf del Sur are the tourism hubs of Los Cristianos and Playa de las Américas, where there’s a long sequence of bays with soft sand, palm sunshades and sunbeds.

-Golf: This resort is the place to be for golfers, featuring two championship courses of its own. A great feature of Tenerife is that it makes golf a year-round sport. This is the only place in Europe where it’s possible to play a round on Christmas Day. At Golf del Sur guests can hire expert tuition, while serious players can enjoy some friendly competition at special tournaments organized on Thursdays and Saturdays. Four more courses are within a half-hour drive of the resort.

-Family attractions: Tenerife has lots of visitor attractions that will catch the imagination of visitors young and not so young. Siam Park in Costa Adeje is a fantastic day out—this modern waterpark has been built like an ancient temple complex and boasts a number of creative slides, flumes and pools, some of which are record-breaking. Aqualand, another waterpark, is a great choice for kids, also featuring a dolphinarium.

-Other activities: Something that all families will enjoy is a whale-watching trip. Tenerife’s southern coast is in line with the migration routes of several species, while a variety of dolphins and whales also make their habitats in the waters around the Canary Islands, so there’s always a good chance of seeing something spectacular. Tenerife is also a good place for diving, thanks in no small part to the mild water temperatures and abundant ocean life underwater.

-Day trips: Southern Tenerife is the most popular part of the island for tourism, but with a car there’s plenty to discover further north. El Teide would be a fine starting point—the peak of this volcano is the highest point in Spain. The capital of Santa Cruz has the buzz and culture of a real city, while next door to it is La Laguna, a UNESCO World Heritage Site thanks to its historic architecture that would set the template for countless new cities when the Americas were settled.

Weather in Golf del Sur

The Canary Islands are known for the fine year-round weather, which is down to their southerly location, parallel to North Africa and not far from the Tropic of Cancer. This creates a sub-tropical climate, with surprisingly little change in weather conditions from month to month, especially here on the southern side of the island. Arrive at a Golf del Sur holiday home between April and October and temperatures will reach between 24 and 28?C by day. In the winter season daily highs will peak at 21?C or so.

Travel to Golf del Sur

Golf del Sur apartments are in a fantastic spot for transport links. This resort is exceptionally close to Tenerife South Airport (TFS), which is the main way onto the island for visitors from the UK. It has a host of flight routes via low-fares carriers and charters throughout the year. By car the journey to Golf del Sur won’t take more than ten minutes from the arrivals hall via the TF-1 and TF-65 roads.

                                                                                                      Had a great time staying at Fairways and the flat had everything we needed for our 9 night stay. Excellent swimming pool and plenty of amenities on site plus a good selection of restaurants a short stroll away in Golf De Sur. I enjoyed the daily coastal walk to San Blas whilst the girls were more excited about having British TV channels in the flat - would not hesitate in recommending the flat if anyone is considering a holiday in this area.
