Beautiful views, lovely pool ... bring pillows!

5 of 5
NOT FOR pre-school children because of the low balustrade and sheer drops. DO pay Tara to have the pool heated … ask for this at time of booking request. PRINT maps of how to get to the villa … it is on a ONE WAY STREET, and a satnav will not bring you there. It took us 3/4 hour to find it! ~ There are unparalleled views of Los Gigantes, but the villa, though beautiful with marble floors and chandeliers, is tired. Two of the bathrooms’ toilets are if-y, but the third (the grey one) has an excellent shower and toilet. The gas fired BBcue is AMAZING! (remember to put a metal pan underneath as lit fat drips from the BBcue!) It took us two WHOLE DAYS to work out that the fourth digit from the end of the wifi code on the back of the router is a 9 and not an S, but then the wifi worked wonderfully. The kitchen utensils and crockery are eclectic, but the wine and brandy glasses are gorgeous! The electricity went off (fuse box in the downstairs hall needed the main switch flicked), but the cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine are excellent. The water went off for a couple of hours and really panicked us … but then it came back on, good as new! The one thing that we found untenable, coming from UK, was the bedding. DO bring pillows and pillow cases as there are only long bolsters for pillows. Mattress covers would be highly recommended too. Having said that, the villa itself is very clean (I was surprised that another reviewer thought not) and so are the sheets and towels. There is an excellent (daily?) rubbish pick-up if you leave bags in the hole in the wall outside the Villa. The villa is tricky to drive in and out of, but the electric gate, operated via a key fob (which we found on a table in the downstairs hall) is impressive! Will we stay again …? YES! Now we know the villa’s foibles we most definitely WOULD … but will absolutely BRING THAT BEDDING!!

Overall good, lovely position, but with some problems

4 of 5
Overall a good villa and well appointed. As a family we all enjoyed our stay. Loved the quite position, swimming pool and general feeling of the place. One or two minor points though which caused problems: 1 -The gate remote gave us problems and stoped working altogether on the second day. As this was the only way to get the car out, proved more than just a minor problem. We had to try and fix ourselves and in the end it turned out it needed a new battery - purchased and replaced at our cost. This spoilt our day as we couldn't get the car out until late afternoon. 2- No tea towels to dry crockery and glasses etc, again had to purchase our own. 3- On occasions smells coming from the upstairs toilet/ drains. 4- The Meet and Great. Was only Meet and hardly any Great. Keys and non functioning gate remotes just handed over. With little or no explanation. Representative did not even show us in to the property, but left without even coming in to the property. Not good.
