Make a holiday apartment in Costa Adeje your home away from home

Holiday villas in Costa Adeje are in a fantastic spot for family getaways. This part of the island is blessed with a series of lovely of beaches, as well as two of Tenerife’s premier family attractions, Aqualand and Siam Park. The scenery is spellbinding and much of it is protected by natural parks. One way to get out and experience these landscapes is to make for the the local golf courses, which have beautiful coastal settings.

At a holiday apartment in Costa Adeje the ocean and its many beaches will never be far away, but for those who fancy a swim in peace and seclusion nearly every rental here has the advantage of a private pool and garden. Interiors are set up with the conveniences and comfort expected of a luxury family home—most feature home entertainment including DVD players and satellite TV, as well as internet access. To widen the search, take a look at our choice of holiday apartments in Callao Salvaje a little further up the coast.

Things to do

-Beaches: This is the best place to be for beaches, with no fewer than five close by—Torviscas, Pinta, La Troya, del Duque and Fañabé. These are all perfectly laid out for tourism. For an active day it’s possible to choose from a range of watersports like windsurfing and waterskiing, and if relaxation is in order then they are all complemented by sunshades and sunbeds.

-Golf: The southern part of Tenerife has an abundance of courses, the closest of which is Golf Costa Adeje. This is an 18-hole course loved for its broad greens and complemented by practice facilities that include a driving range, pitching areas, putting greens and practice bunkers. Minutes along the coast are two alternatives at Golf del Sur and Amarilla Golf.

-Attractions: Justifying Costa Adeje’s reputation as a family destination is the presence of two of Tenerife’s top days out for kids. Siam Park is a Siamese-themed waterpark with extraordinary attention to detail, featuring the world’s longest lazy river, a wave pool with an artificial beach, a six-lane slide and much more. Aqualand is also close by and combines slides and flumes with wildlife shows and exhibits.

-Local history: Set on higher ground away from the coast is the old town of Adeje where colonial architecture overlaps with the island’s indigenous heritage. Well worth seeing here is the Casa Fuerte, a fort from the 1500s that was constructed to repel pirate attacks and for three centuries was at the very heart of the city.

-El Teide: This stratovolcano is set within a National Park and is visible from almost every part of the island. The peak sits at 3,718 metres high, making it the highest point in all of Spain. For some of the year the summit has a dusting of snow, so for those going to the top via the cable car it’s worth wrapping up. There are also trails to explore throughout the park, from which spectacular volcanic landscapes can be enjoyed all around.

Weather in Costa Adeje

No matter the time of year, conditions in Costa Adeje should be pleasantly warm. Tenerife is often referred to as the Island of Eternal Spring, and holidaying at a Costa Adeje apartment it will be easy to see why. As the island is on the same latitude as the Sahara Desert temperatures fluctuate little from season to season. From April to October daily highs climb to between 24 and 28?C. The period between November and March is only marginally cooler but still gets highs in the low-20s—this season coincides with a little more rain.

Travel to Costa Adeje

Costa Adeje holiday villas are handily located not far from Tenerife South Airport (TFS). For guests travelling to the island from the UK this is the main way in. The airport handles a host of routes from the UK throughout the year, generally via low-fares airlines. Costa Adeje is connected to the airport by the TF-1, and the 20-kilometre drive shouldn’t take more than 15 minutes. Public transport is also an option—there are direct buses (110 and 111) from the arrivals terminals to Costa Adeje with a journey time of about 30 minutes.

Lovely apartment,great location

5 of 5
Was a bit nervous as it was the first time we have booked privately so wasn't sure what to expect. There was absolutely nothing to worry about. Katherine was super helpful and answered any queries that we had before hand. The apartment had everything that we needed. The towels and bed sheets were only changed once during our 10 night stay but we did not find this an issue as there was a washing machine available, so we washed any towels that we needed to and with a huge double balcony there was plenty of room to leave things out to dry. The balcony got the sun in the afternoon and there was a canopy that you could use if the sun got too hot. The location of the apartment in the hotel was perfect on the first floor with a pool view. Couldn't use the pool bar however did not find this an issue as the apartment was so close to the pool so could pop back for any refreshments that we needed. Entertainment staff at the hotel included everyone and they are great. The hotel is in a great location with shops, bars and restaurants on the doorstep and a 5 minute walk to the marina/ beach (although there are a lot of inclines getting back to the hotel! - good exercise!). I would however recommend if you do struggle walking to get a taxi or minibus from the airport that can take you up the small hill to the hotel entrance as a coach cant get you up there. There is a Hyperdino opposite the hotel and another small supermarket which is a couple of minutes walk turning left out of the hotel. I would recommended Victoria's restaurant, also just to the left of the hotel - very cheap meals and breakfasts that were just as nice as anywhere else, we went there a lot during our stay. Also visited both waterparks (Siam Park and Aqualand - tip money off vouchers for Aqualand in Hyperdino and McDonalds) which were a free 15 minute bus ride away or around 5 euros in a taxi. There is also a taxi rank right outside the hotel which is useful. The air conditioning in the apartment was nice to be able to put on when returning on a warm afternoon/ evening. There is also a dvd player if you take your own dvd's which is good to entertain the children whilst getting ready as the children's Disney channel is in Spanish (not that my 3yr old minded!). The only suggestion I would make is to possibly have a spare set of keys for the apartment as we only had one set. Other than that no complaints - a great stay! Wouldn't hesitate to stay in this apartment again
