It was tricky to work out the layout form the photographs but on arrival at the property we were blown away! So much space for all of us to play, live, relax... We settled quickly into our two week holiday and experienced generosity and warmth from the owners. An almost inexhaustible supply of eggs and avocados were left for us along with bread, croissants and papayas. The house is large and traditional and the few things that perhaps need modernising do not take away from the comfort and charm of the house. The beds are large and everything is very clean; lots of wardrobe space. It is also lovely and cool. You have a large outdoor kitchen and eating area as well as a kitchen in the house. There are lots of different seating areas around the property. I must also mention the owner's wine supply, which you can drink and pay for in an honesty box; we loved the red wine! Best of all is the direct view of Mount Teide from your veranda in one direction and the sea in the other. Absolutely beautiful.
The surrounding area is lovely with so many good beaches and rock pools to explore. It is very rugged and much nicer than the South but that is reachable in an hour for any big attractions you want. Puerto de la Cruz is only 30 minutes away by car and has a great beach. The owner gave us lots of restaurant recommendations off the beaten track. The town of Icod de los vinos is a hidden treasure, with the 1000 year old tree "el drago" and has an excellent shopping town too.
You must have a car here - both for getting here and around but the driving is pretty easy - stick to main routes though, avoiding small mountainside towns, unless you have a 4x4 and nerves of steel! Google maps was pretty faultless anywhere we went. We spent a day each at Loro Parque and Siam Parque - both excellent for the children (ours are 9 and 6).
The town of Garachico very nearby is lovely. The tiny beach at San Marcos is good if you don't want to go far and we ate in Amarco restaurant several times.
We would definitely stay again if we were coming back to Tenereife and the house could accommodate more people than we were this time, which was 2 grandparents and our family of 4. Thank you Eduardo and Eugenio.
