A lovely, spacious villa ...perfect family holiday

5 of 5
We had a wonderful holiday in the Retreat. It is very spacious, with a twin bedroom downstairs, opposite a big shower room and 3 bedrooms upstairs. the master has a shower room and the two twin rooms share a bathroom with a bath. The water pressure is lovely, especially in the downstairs shower!. The villa was clean and tidy on our arrival and we were met by George, who was very helpful. George left his number should we have needed it during our stay. We had one interruption with the internet connection, which George got fixed straight away. We hired a car so didn't require any excursions or taxis, but the visitors book shoes that this can be arranged. The kitchen was well equipped. The lounge/diner is huge! We ate in local restaurants or cooked on the BBQ in the garden. The balcony/terrace area is a perfect size. The children (12.10 and 8) loved the pool. A perfect size and well maintained. The only addition i'd add is a parasol or two for around the pool, and some cushions for the loungers. I have fair skin, so like to stay out of the sun most of the time, but enjoy being with the children around the pool. We bought some inflatables and left them in the storage room for others to enjoy. The pool isn't overlooked and the views across the fields towards the hills is beautiful. We spotted a pair of eagles circling the fields most days. Housemartins and swallows are regular visitors to the pool, swooping down for a drink throughout the day. The beach is a 5 minute drive. It is possible to walk, and we saw people doing this from the village, but in the heat and with young children, a car is recommended. The beach has a few lovely restaurants and bars and there is one large hotel. There are sun-loungers and parasols to rent and there was never any trouble getting one. The beach is visited by locals and the hotel users so it was never overcrowded. A short walk along the beach and you could avoid people quite easily. For a relaxing holiday, away from the noisy Brits, then this is perfect. Plenty to visit by car too. We went to water park , visited Varna and drove south to explore Nessebar. Gina was very helpful and provided plenty of information before the holiday to make the journey and stay easy. We will be going back!

Lovely place for an amazingly restful stay

5 of 5
Really enjoyed the villa, the facilities are ideal and made for an extremely relaxing trip. Visited a few of the surrounding towns and cities, my favourite probably being Balchik. There isn't much in the village itself, other than the two local shops, but there are several supermarkets not too far away so replenishing stocks wasn't an issue. All in all really enjoyed the villa, the location and the very enjoyable family stay that we had. Would definitely (in fact I already have) recommend this villa. Sonny was very helpful on his visits to clean the pool, but also unobtrusive. The locals were all very polite and helpful, to a point that I will certainly be going back.
