Holidaymakers looking for a fun vacation in a beautiful location should look no further than Maracajau in Brazil. Diving to the famous coral reefs here is a very worthwhile experience. Horse riding is offered in Maracajau and is a good way to explore the area along with hiking and cycling. Visitors can enjoy various sports within an hour of the resort including golf, tennis and football. The area offers a few fine restaurants, bars and cafes with a good variety of cuisine. Self catering holidaymakers will be able to purchase food and drink from the small grocery stores. For a bigger choice of shops and restaurants, visitors should head to the state capital Natal, which is just over an hour away.

The quiet village of Maracajau has some pretty areas to wander around and beautiful views to enjoy. Holidaymakers may like a break from the sun and the sand and take a day trip to the state capital Natal, where there are many visitor attractions. Amongst the attractions are several museums such as Espaço Cultural Palácio Potengi, Instituto Histórico e Geográfico do Rio Grande do Norte and Pinacoteca do Rio Grande do Norte. Families will also like the Natal Aquarium and its 60 marine species. In addition to this the medieval fortress is also well worth visiting. One of the city’s claims to fame is that it is home to the largest cashew tree in the world, which is a popular tourist attraction.

Augusto Severo International Airport (NAT) in Natal is approximately a one hour and 45 minute drive from Maracajaú. Flights arrive here from a few international airports including Amsterdam (AMS), Lisbon (LIS), London-Gatwick (LGW), Milan Malpensa (MXP) and Rome Fiumicino (FCO). There are taxis available at the airport and car rental companies are represented in the terminal building.
