The stretch of Eastern Adriatic coastline from Split to Dubrovnik is beautiful and clean and includes 22km which belongs to the country of Bosnia-Herzegovina. Neum is situated on an enclosed bay, just outside Dubrovnik. It is protected by the Peljesac Peninsula from the open sea winds, so it has exceptionally calm waters. A former retreat for the Communist elite, Neum is now a popular tourist destination offering plenty of attractions at much lower prices than its neighbouring Croatian resorts.
