This apartment is in a beautifully converted chateau, we were really impressed with the quality of everything, it all looked built to last, nothing done on the cheap, and quite a spectacular range of kitchen equipment (dishwasher, deep fat fryer, pressure cooker, loads and loads of crockery, there was more stuff than we have at home!). A lot has been achieved in a relatively small space and it never felt cramped. The spiral staircase helped - it wouldn't suit anyone unsteady on their feet but we loved it, it added character. We got a really warm welcome when we arrived, as well as a helpful selection of maps and guides which we made good use of. I wished we had brought our bicycles as this area is really well set-up for cycling with various green ways linking the towns and villages. Things to be aware of - WiFi was pretty much non-existent in the apartment itself you can usually get it in the communal courtyard where there are tables and chairs set up, but does occasionally drop off there too. Also, the building is right opposite an enormous church whose bells will wake you at 7am without fail each day. In the unlikely event that you manage to sleep through that, the eight o'clock bongs (91 in total, I counted) will finish the job. One for the early risers!

House is situated in pleasant location on outskirts of town. Large garden at rear with picnic table chairs. Interior is reasonably well equipped with plenty of storage room in bedrooms. Kitchen area is very cramped with no space for food preparation which had to be done on dining room table. Oil Fired Central heating is efficient if needed. There were however three health safety issues. 1. Electric cooking hob had lost all its markings so you are only able to discover which knob controls which hotplate other than by trial error - there is also no warning light that a given hot plate is switched on. 2. Combination microwave oven is situated high up above refrigerator - persons under 5 and a half feet (1.7metres) tall are unable to safely use it due to having to reach up to view inside or put food in and out. A small step up should be provided as the only other alternative is to stand on a chair. 3. Hot water tank is far too small for more than two people to have bath/showers first thing in the morning. This is clearly a known problem as instructions are left to open fuse cupboard in main bedroom manually switch relevant circuit breaker to manual for a 20 minute boost. This is dangerous totally unacceptable.
