Weston is within just a couple of minutes of some very beautiful sandy beaches at Reeds Bay and Gibbes Beach, which are ideal for sunbathing and swimming in the sea. Golf is very popular here and there are several courses on the island including the Sandy Lane Golf Club and the Barbados Golf Club. The island has some wonderful places for hikers, horse riders and cyclists to roam with some organised walking trips arranged free of charge. Weston has a small number of restaurants and bars. There are some notable natural and environmental related attractions situated on the west side of the island including Lazaretto Gardens and Folkestone Marine Park and Museum. A short trip to the capital Bridgetown offers plenty of history and interesting sites such as the Parliament Buildings. Visitors will also find a few museums on the island such as Barbados Museum, Sir Frank Huston Sugar Museum or Arlington House Museum. There are some other very interesting historic buildings worth visiting on the island including Fisherpond House, Codrington College and Blackman’s Bridge.

The temperature on the island remains fairly constant throughout the year with an average daytime high of 75-85 degrees Fahrenheit. The dry season is January to June with tropical rainstorms sometimes in the hurricane season between June and October. However, the rain normally quickly passes to be followed by sunny weather again. Hurricanes normally avoid Barbados as well. Between January and March holidaymakers can expect approximately 10 hours of sunshine per day, but the rest of the year will not be much lower than this.
