  • Our Holiday in Barbados

We have recently returned after staying in this villa for the past two weeks. I went with my partner, my 18 year old daughter and her boyfriend and we all had a lovely time. The villa itself had ample room for the four of us with a third bedroom that we didn't use. The "kids" loved having a swimming pool to themselves and spent a lot of time in it. It was also great for us oldies to cool down in after being in the sun. The villa is well equipped with everything you need and the air conditioning in the bedrooms was a god send together with the mosquito nets over the bed which were a must have, together with taking your own repellent, as they still manage to get you! The villa has an iron, washing machine and washing line which all came in handy. On arrival at the villa, it took a while for the taxi to find it and also a little while for us to find our bearings, however, once we had, the villa is very well located and only a short distance from the local shop, beach, bus stop and bars/restaurants. St Lawrence Gap is a short walk away but wasn't very busy when we went (end July/beg Aug) which meant that we easily managed to get a table for dinner in all of the restaurants. A larger supermarket is about a 5 mins bus ride away, but be warned that it is very expensive to buy from the supermarket - we found it was cheaper eating and drinking out. The buses are an experience, you can travel anywhere on the island for $2 which was great and there was only really one direct route we took (bus no. 11) which you can jump on and off whenever you want, this was very handy when going to the supermarket, restaurants further away from the villa, beaches and Bridgetown. They do squeeze you in the white buses though and a couple of times myself and my daughter were sitting on our partners' laps as there weren't enough seats !!! :-) The owners, Teresa and Colin were very helpful prior to our holiday and provided us with all of the necessary information that we needed. Even during our holiday, Teresa kept in touch to ensure that we had everything we needed and were having a good time. This was a lovely personal touch. June the housekeeper met us on arrival and was always available if we needed her. It was great to know that there is someone a text message away that can help with any queries. All in all, we had the perfect holiday and would recommend this villa to anyone.

Loved the Salt Ash! Rooms were simple and clean, and had everything including a kitchenette and wi-fi, and the beach and the view from our balcony were amazing! Had a rum punch at Tyrone's bar on the patio and dipped my feet in the ocean before I even made it up to the room. Thanks for a great stay!
