Adawna - It really is Home from Home!

              5 of 5
Where to start? Naturally from the beginning. From the initially inquiry (which was responded to within 2 hours), to all other electronic interactions, communication was excellent with Chris & Bill. They provided practical advice and guidance re. transfers from the airport etc. and even reserved a table for us all at a local restaurant for our first evening in Barbados. Upon arriving at Adawna it soon became evident that the apartment description/photo's on the Owners Direct website failed to do it justice. The apartment was spacious, airy, well furnished and spotlessly clean. Chris gave us a tour of the apartment and the garden/pool area. The pool appeared larger than on the website and like the apartment was spotlessly clean. Chris informed us that we could use the pool whenever and take sun-loungers onto the pool-deck area. To all intents and purposes this felt like it was exclusively for our use. A real bonus to the apartment and one that we took full advantage of. We enjoyed a lovely evening meal at Zaccios Restaurant on the beach at Holetown, during which Chris & Bill both provided us with a great deal of local information. Nothing was too much trouble for Chris & Bill! Bill took us to a BBQ at Crystal Water's, on Worthing beach, and Chris took us for an early-morning swim several times to the local beach. I'm a 'Faddy eater' so we took full advantage of the self-catering facilities. The kitchen is fully equipped and wants for nothing. However most of our cooking was done on our patio area via the BBQ (which admittedly we had to modify a little to enable us to cook food on it). The locale within which Adawna is situated is primarily residential, however there is a Supermarket within 200 yards. Holder's Terrace is just off Holder's Hill, which believe me is a hill! Easily walkable in one direction i.e. Down. Only attempt the return journey after sunset! There is a nice little bar - Marshall's within 500 yards of Adawna. They serve reasonably priced food & drink. Marshall's proved to be a welcome respite stop on the uphill walk. There are several buses - Blue buses, Yellow Buses and the ZR mini-buses, which believe me are different, very, very different! - all of which stop within close proximity to Adawna. We hired a car for a week, however with hindsight we should have hired for the whole of our holiday. In summary. A beautiful apartment, in a beautiful country, operated by beautiful people. Thanks Chris and Bill. We will return!

This was our family Christmas trip. We have never been so pampered and spoiled as this time in Barbados :). Villa was exceptional, staff was marvelous, weather was beautiful, everything was just perfect.
