Holders is a fantastic village in St James, Barbados. Made famous by the internationally renowned Holders Season since its inception in 1993, Holders has become very well known among international visitors to Barbados, yet is still far off the beaten track for tourists. Filled with typically Barbadian cook houses, rum houses and lively seafood restaurants, Holders accommodation is an excellent choice for anyone wishing to enjoy all that is best about the laid-back lifestyles of western Barbados.
The white sands of Paynes Bay are a short walk from the centre of Holders, Barbados. The bay is perfect for lazy days in the sun as well as swimming, sailing, wind surfing and fishing. The house itself is a beautiful, 300 year old house that perfectly combines English and Barbadian style, with wonderfully landscaped tropical gardens. The house is well worth investigating from Holders accommodation at any time of year, whether the Holders Season is in session or not.
Bridgetown is just 4km from a holiday rental in Holders, Barbados. Bridgetown is both the capital and commercial centre of Barbados, and is well worth a little exploration. The colonial architecture has a definite hint of Barbadian colour, and the Barbados Parliament Buildings are the third oldest Parliamentary buildings in the whole of the Commonwealth. There is a huge amount to see in Holders, and the shopping is the best in Barbados.
The sun always shines in Holders. Throughout the year, Barbados is blessed with around 11 hours of sun per day, with temperatures remaining blissfully warm, without ever becoming unbearably hot. From the hottest month (July) to the coldest (January), monthly average temperatures only fluctuate by around 2˚C, meaning that the climate places very few restrictions on your Holders trip.
