  • Fabulous Palatial Sunkissed Retreat

On arrival, we were initially met and collected from the airport by a well-mannered driver Ricky who took us to the house. He is definitely someone to keep in touch with as if you need a driver he takes minutes to collect you and take you anywhere on the island should you so wish. On arrival at house we had a warm greeting from Charlene (the housekeeper). The property has 3 delightful bedrooms all decked out with air conditioning and TV. On our first night we sat out in the area to the back of the property chilling out with a cool glass or two of something (rum) which is a must if you get a chance to have a tipple or visit the rum factory on a tour. There are loads of bath/beach towels, clean bedding, a washing machine and every item of cutlery and crockery you might need should you wish to cook a meal or make a cup of tea. There are so many places to eat out you may not want to cook. I would recommend Granny’s Kitchen for food. This was my personal favourite. The home was clean and located well within walking distance of the beach and also the local community. The bank and supermarket was a stone's throw away as was Oistins Fish Friday celebrations this is a must if you happen to stay there on a Friday. This night was amazing I can only describe it as a massive carnival with music and dancing on stage, rum flowing and local delicacies are in abundance. Beer seems to be cheaper here than it is in the UK. We were out in the day as much as possible I promise you by 4am in the morning when the cock crows and the sunshine filters through your windows you will want to be up and about. The veranda is fabulous because you can sit and watch the world go by and the shutters at the front of property provide as much privacy as you desire. I would highly recommend a stay here. We danced and danced well into the early morning to the reggae music that made you move your hips whether you like it or not. We visited Harrison’s Cave (highly recommend it) we did this after the rum tour. We also had a chance to visit Rihanna (“the international singer’s”) home that she grew up in and the street she lived on up until the age of 16 has now been renamed after her “Rihanna Drive”. Worth a visit is Bridgetown which you can easily get to on any of the many local buses/taxis . 2 dollars is all you have to pay to go anywhere. Thank you for making our first experience magical. Much love and respect.

  • The most outstanding holiday villa it has ever been our pleasure to occupy.

What a beautiful property in a superb location. Everything was exactly as outlined by the owners Chris & Steve. Michelle had shopped and left us all we required for our first day in the villa. The whole experience was just wonderful from the kitchen, bedrooms, utility, lounge and patio. This was just an ideal vacation for four (4) occupants. Really liked the plunge pool after a long hard day on the beach. A car is a must and we would recommend 'Drive-A-Matic' who went above and beyond by allowing us to park at the port for our cruise, which followed the Villa Calypso experience. I will always remember the humming birds feeding from the syrup feeder in the garden. There is nothing that I could fault about this property!!!!!!!!!!!!!
