Make a Holiday Rental Villa in Bathsheba, Barbados Your Home Away From Home

It’s safe to say that the western side of the beautiful island of Barbados is where most of the action takes place and to where most of the tourists flock throughout the year. This leaves the hidden gem of the town of Bathsheba in the parish of St. Joseph on the eastern side of the island in the hands of those in the know. A Bathsheba holiday is guaranteed to bring you plenty of tranquillity, stunning sea views and the chance to explore some of the forgotten areas of this small but stunning Caribbean island.

Things to Do on Holiday in Bathsheba, Barbados

The eastern side of the island of Barbados is generally not as crowded as the western side, thus visitors will be able to enjoy their stay in Bathsheba in relatively peaceful surroundings. The village does become quite busy at times as it is home to the world renowned Soup Bowl, one of the most prestigious surfing spots which draws keen surfers from all over the globe. As well as trying your hand at surfing whilst on a Bathsheba holiday, other activities such as fishing, diving, hiking and mountain biking are all available in the surrounding area of the village.

Places to Visit on Holiday in Bathsheba, Barbados

If you can tear yourself away from your comfortable Bathsheba holiday rental villa to explore the rest of the island, then a short 6 mile trip south along the coats will bring you to the Morgan Lewis Windmill. The windmill is thought to date back to 1727 and is the last sugar mill to operate on the whole of the island; indeed, it is only one of two sugar mills still operational in the world. Now a museum, the Morgan Lewis Windmill does still grind sugar cane on the last Sunday of every month between February and July each year. As well as finding out more about the history of the windmill in the museum, visitors can climb to the top of the windmill to get some stunning views of the surrounding area.

Weather in Bathsheba, Barbados

Should you now be considering reserving a fabulous Ragged Point holiday rental villa then you will be able to experience a typical sub-tropical climate, which means that the temperature is pretty much constant throughout the whole year. The wonderful climate means that most days of the month see the daytime temperature ranging from 28 to 32 degrees Celsius. Generally the wettest months of the year are September, October and November with the village experiencing approximately 23 inches of rainfall during the whole year.

Beach life at Liitle Reef!

5 of 5
We had a wonderful holiday at Sally's homely apartment. We had everything we needed for a relaxing stay and any queries were dealt with by Shirley, the housekeeper, immediately. We were welcomed by Grantley who lives next door and given all the information we needed about the 'working' of the apartment. The parcel of food & drink essentials left for us in the fridge was very welcome after our delayed flight! The position of Little Reef could not be bettered - just as nice as Sandy Lane but without the crowds. It was great to wake up and have breakfast on the terrace and go for a swim and maybe a bit of sunbathing without having to wait for anyone else to get up!! We had a really outstanding meal at The Tides restaurant in Holetown - highly recommended for a special occasion. The owner Sally was available by email before & during our holiday and responded promptly to all of our queries so that we were totally confident of our decision to stay at Little Reef. I understand that the apartment is undergoing some renovation work during September and we would love to visit again in the future to see how perfection has been improved!

Highly recommended

This was our third stay at this amazing home (twice with the former owners and most recently with the new owners). The house is wonderfully maintained, with everything you need for a relaxing vacation. The kitchen is modern and well equipped. The airy master suite has beautiful high ceilings and a lovely en suite. The backyard is very private and quiet, and the pool is perfect for cooling down on a hot afternoon, or for a late night dip. On our most recent trip we saw a troop of monkeys run across the fence line or through the yard three mornings in a row. The location is wonderful - just a few minutes from wonderful beaches, restaurants and a grocery store, as well as the Beach House, with its large well appointed pool area.
