Pleasant apartment, well positioned for exploring the Salzkammergut area.

5 of 5
The apartment was clean, and adequately equipped. We particularly enjoyed the balcony, and its view across Wolfgangsee to the mountains. The parking space for the car was welcome, and it was very useful to have the local Information Centre and a supermarket quite close by. Sankt Gilgen is a pleasant town, just a few minutes' walk from the apartment, with a fair choice of places to eat and shop, and easy access to the boats that ferry up and down the lake. Besides the other towns around the lake, of which Sankt Wolfgang is perhaps the most charming, there are several other picturesque lakes within easy reach by car. Salzburg, only 45 minutes away by car, is well worth a visit, and so is Bad Ischl, where we enjoyed a visit to Kaiser Franz Josef's summer residence. On a fine day, a trip on the mountain railway from Sankt Wolfgang to the summit of Schafberg is not to be missed! We had a little difficulty getting the television to work at first, but Mr. Klamas was available by phone and was soon able to solve the problem.

Great apartment, superb hosts and ideal location

5 of 5
The apartment was clean and well stocked with all we needed. Communication before pur trip with the owners was superb and whilst we were there. This is a great base for exploring the area with easy access to Salzburg. The town itself has everything you need. We explored out by car to: Mauthausen Salzburg Melk Gmunden Hallstatt St Wolfgang & Mondsee & St Gilgen Linz The area is stunning and beautiful in the spring with snow on the mountains and blossom in the valleys. We travelled as a couple with our 21 year old son and we all had an amazing time. It was our first time to Austria and we all fell in love with it. We will return and we will stay here again. The only negative was having to leave!
