  • Wonderful location and an enjoyable stay!

Alluvion Beach Cottage occupies a wonderful position on the banks of the Swan River and Moulting Lagoon. It provides an excellent base for exploring the beauty of the Freycinet Peninsular National Park (the walk up to the Wineglass Bay viewpoint is a must do!) and the areas around Bicheno with its penguins and Swansea. Alluvion Beach Cottage itself is a great place for bird watching with many species seen in the area and we saw wallabies close by. An attempted kayaking trip was a disappointment as the kayaks we hired at the cottage are really only suitable for children playing in the immediate area rather than an excursion of any distance by adults and there is little depth of water under most of the tidal range. We really enjoyed our stay at Alluvion and were really impressed by the National Park which provided the highlights of our visit to east Tasmania.

The house is very well laid out... quality throughout...excellent property....Enjoyed a well deserved rest.... short walk to beach was cool.... it's in close proximity to local restaurants. Outdoor entertainment area was lovely but unfortunately we couldn't get inbuilt barbecue to work. That however didn't pose a problem as we used barbecue on deck....Loved the outdoor shower.
