Make a holiday rental, home or holiday accommodation in Australia your home away from home

Holidays to Australia can take many forms, as the country is so magnificently diverse. From the lively cosmopolitan cities of Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Cairns, Canberra and Perth, to the 10,000 beautiful beaches, or endless outback, there is an Australian holiday rental and destination to intrigue and delight every traveller. The beauty and cultural importance of Australia has been recognised with 16 separate UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Places to holiday in Australia

New South Wales is Australia's oldest state. There is a magnificent wealth and diversity of attractions, sports and natural wonders in New South Wales including Sydney, the surfing beaches of the Central Coast, the World Heritage Site of the Blue Mountains, the townships, surfing beaches and rainforests of the Northern Rivers, the magnificent Lord Howe Island and the spectacular outback, to mention just a few of the most popular destinations. An Australian holiday rental in New South Wales can be exactly what you would like to make it.

Western Australia is a beautiful state of wild outback and an oceanic culture. It is home to Perth, Australia's Coral Coast, where you can dive with the whale shark or snorkelling with manta rays and dolphins, and the last true wilderness of the Golden Outback. Sleeping under the stars with an authentic Aboriginal guide will almost certainly change your view of the world!

Taking an Australia holiday rental in Queensland will immerse you in the wonderfully laid-back culture of Australia. The lazy days spent on the glorious beaches or sailing around the Whitsunday Islands will relax you to new levels, whilst the surfing and theme parks of the Gold Coast will invigorate you. Take a 4x4 on the largest sand island in the world, Fraser Island, or investigate the rainforests, barrier reefs and secluded islands of Mackay.

Things to do on holiday in Australia

The natural landscape of Australia is sublime. Attractions like the Great Barrier Reef, Blue Mountains, Fraser Island, the 12 Apostles, Ayres Rock and the Tasmanian Wilderness are unique environments which draw travellers from around the globe. Taking Australia self catering accommodation not only allows you to get in amongst the natural wonders, but also the people and man-made cultural wonders of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House, and the Cape Otway Lightstation in Victoria.

Australia is also a sporting haven where adventure sports of all descriptions have taken a strong hold, and exhilarating, and often unique opportunities can be taken advantage of with magnificent results. The scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef is often regarded as the most scenic, diverse and interesting on the globe, and there are some spectacular locations for sky-diving, bungee jumping and paragliding. Weather in Australia

Much of Australia receives over 3,000 hours of sunshine a year, so sun cream and a hat are essential. Summer, from December to February is a great time to take an Australian holiday rental on the beach, but the rest of the year, whilst slightly cooler, is still hot by European standards, and opens up the great Australian outdoors for sport, culture and even skiing in New South Wales and Victoria (June until August).

Travel to Australia

Australia is a massive country, so flights must be decided after you have decided upon your holiday destination and rental accommodation in Australia. Once in Australia, internal flights are a magnificent way to travel, and allow you to take a couple of Australian holiday rentals and see more of this magnificent country. There are international airports in Adelaide (ADL), Sydney (BWU), Brisbane (BNE), Cairns (CNS), Canberra (CBR), Perth (PER) and Melbourne (MEL), and hundreds of internal airports.

This is a very good location. Walk to Darling Harbour and nice restaurants in the neighborhood just around the corner. Late check in was easy. We did enjoy the property and because of location I would recommend it. We have stayed in many places around the world through similar services so I always think that I should give honest feedback especially when an easy fix could make the place a bit better. These are not reasons not to stay here - just a few thoughts. Main bath could use new taps. Very hard to turn on and off with wet hands due to design. Need more chairs for the dining table (only 2 provided) and needs a couple of tables in the lounge. Nowhere to put a drink when sitting in the lounge. We used a bench as a table that I think was meant to serve as extra seating for the dining table but had to move it between the two spaces each time. Face cloths would be nice. The second bedroom night table lamp doesn't work on one side - just a bulb I think. I would reorient the bed in that room as the noise from the street is loud and it's a bit drafty with the head of the bed being directly up against the large window. Only one set of keys was available. We were two couples wanting to do some separate activities and having only one set of keys was inconvenient. We would stay again if some of these were remedied but also really good value for location. Questions we had were answered quickly thoughout out stay by host.
