Holidaymakers looking for a place to stay in beautiful area of Australia should try Kingscliff. Located in the state of New South Wales this delightful area offers many exciting things for visitors to see and do. Kingscliff lies on the coast and has a host of golden sandy beaches for holidaymakers to relax on and soak up the sun. Watersports available here include swimming, snorkelling, surfing, water skiing, sailing and fishing. Golf fans will find some excellent courses in the area including a couple just a few minutes away at Chinderah. Holidaymakers can explore the coast and further inland by hiking, cycling and horse riding. Other activities popular with holidaymakers are bowls, tennis, mountain biking and paragliding. The resort features pleasant restaurants, bars and cafes offering a great choice of local and international dishes. Self catering holidaymakers will also be able to buy provisions from stores in the area.
Holidaymakers staying at Kingscliff will find many interesting and beautiful attractions such as the Minjungbal Aboriginal Cultural Centre, where there is a museum and art gallery. Nearby there are other fine sights such as Point Danger Lookout at Tweed Heads. This gives tourists a great view of the sea and maybe even some dolphins as well as offering facts about Australian maritime history. About 45 minutes north along the Gold Coast are many more great towns to visit. One such place is Southport where holidaymakers can visit the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre and Southport Broadwater Parklands. The city of Brisbane is about an hour and 20 minute’s drive from Kingscliff and features attraction such as The Queensland Gallery of Modern Art, the City Botanic Gardens and the sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium.
January and February are generally the hottest months of the year with average high temperatures of 24 degrees centigrade. June and July are the coolest months with an average high of 16 degrees centigrade and average lows of just 6 degrees. The wettest time of the year is March when there can be as much as 100mm of rainfall on average.
Brisbane Airport (BNE) is approximately an hour and a half from Kingscliff. Flights arrive in Brisbane from other major airports in Australia including Melbourne (MEL) and Sydney (SYD) as well as some overseas airports such as Auckland (AKL), Hong Kong (HKG) and Los Angeles (LAX). Overseas visitors can fly to Sydney Airport (SYD) and get a connecting flight to Brisbane. Flights arrive at Sydney from various international airports including Beijing-Capital (PEK), London-Heathrow (LHW), Los Angeles (LAX), New York (JFK), Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG), Tokyo-Narita (NRT) and Toronto-Pearson (YYZ) amongst others. Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, Redspot and Thrifty are car rental firms with desks located at Brisbane Airport.
