Fabulous country cottage

5 of 5
We had a five night getaway following the hectic Christmas period down the coast, and chose to stay at Yowaka River Cottage. The cottage is beautifully appointed and renovated for easy living. You could not want for more in a holiday property. Comfortable beds, incredibly clean, lots of light and places to watch the sunrise or sunset and great views in every direction. A thoughtful snack basket awaited us, including snacks for our 10 month old, and all the basic essentials (less vegemite) in the cupboard! :P Communication was simple and easy and response times were almost immediate. Summer and Taj made sure everything was there that we needed. We lit the fire almost every night for toasted marshmallows and watched many sunsets from the deck with a glass of wine. The stars have to be seen to be believed. We had moonless skies and crystal clear nights. Ive never seen so many stars.... we watched them for hours. Yowaka Cottage is very private. My single and only complaint, is the Princes Highway. While the turn off to the property is a km or more from the road, the actual property sits maybe 30m back and just above the highway. The cars and trucks are pretty noisy but generally stop around 9pm and don't really get going again until 5am or so. It did ruin the ambiance a little, but there was reasonable amounts of breaks between traffic where you could just listen to the birds and the wind in the trees. It was a fabulous property, one which we would love to come back to.
