Football fans may like to visit the Islas Malvinas stadium, which was built for the 1978 World Cup Finals. This is an important wine producing regions and guided tours are provided at the wineries located here. Buses run to nearby areas such as San Rafael and Valle de Uco, which are interesting towns to visit.

The best way to get to Mendoza is to fly to Ministro Pistarini International Airport (EZE), near Buenos Aires, which has flights to and from major cities such as Frankfurt, Johannesburg, London, Madrid, New York, Paris, Rome, Sydney and Washington. There are connecting flights to El Plumerillo International Airport (MDZ), which is five miles from the city centre of Mendoza. There are car rentals firms located at Mendoza Airport as well as taxis.
