Yes. You are always in charge of who rents your home. Every enquiry and booking request comes to you. You can talk to the traveller to find out more about them and make sure they’re a good fit for your property.

What types of properties can I advertise?

At HomeAway, we believe in “The whole house. The whole family. A whole holiday.” As part of our commitment to that, we only rent whole properties. But it certainly doesn’t have to be a house! Acceptable rental properties include houses, apartments, and villas, as well as barns, boats, bungalows, cabins, castles, chalets, chateaus, cottages, estates, mansions, yachts, and yurts, and other structures travellers may want to rent for their whole holiday.

Which listing option is best for me?

As a general rule, pay-per-booking is a better value for properties that are rented fewer than six weeks a year, or if you are a new advertiser and you want to try HomeAway without any commitment or upfront fee; an annual subscription is recommended for properties that rent six weeks or more per year, and this option will let you take unlimited bookings for one flat fee.

What are the eligibility requirements for pay-per-booking?

In order to set up a pay-per-booking listing, you must have a billing address and bank account in one of these countries: United States and Puerto Rico, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Austria, Switzerland, Greece, Belgium, Netherlands.

Can pay-per-booking listings book offline?

Pay-per-booking listings are required to use our payments platform for all bookings of the property. Paying online through is more secure for you and your guests. There are processes in place to ensure payments go through the system, and listings that do not adhere to the pay-per-booking terms will be removed from the site.

Can I switch options if I change my mind?

You can switch from pay-per-booking to an annual subscription at any time, and you can switch from an annual subscription to pay-per-booking when your annual subscription expires.
