Winter Honeymoon in Venice, wonderfully seductive
Venice is romantic at any time of the year but in winter time it is less crowded and with a slightly more seductive edge to this wonderful city. Wake up to chiming bells and Cappuccinos with dollops of foam. Wrap up warm and take a stroll exploring charming streets and quiet squares. With fewer tourists the attractions can be admired at your leisure, head off to St Marks Basilica - the outside is breathtakingly beautiful and the inside is no less captivating with floor to ceiling mosaics. St Marks is easily one of the most stunning churches in Italy. Doges Palace, one of the main landmarks of the city, was seat to the government of Venice for centuries as well as being home to the Doge (the elected ruler of Venice). Located in St Marks square which is described as the heart of Venice and home to many major monuments both should be on your list to visit. There is so much to admire and enjoy when in Venice and Burno Island is just so pretty being made up of picturesque canals lined with brightly coloured houses you’ll find it is a real joy to explore. If you just want to meander then take a stroll around Rialto market, known as a fish market but with plenty of other produce you can while away some time with the Rialto Bridge within sight - make sure you have some space left on your camera!
