Short Term Rentals in Dubrovnik

A wide range of self catering accommodation can be found in Dubrovnik, both in the Old Town and the pretty surrounding areas. The Lapad Peninsula is a particularly good place for families to stay, thanks to its lovely promenade, beaches and coastal walks. Dubrovnik offers luxury apartments and holiday homes for couples and families, with the added attraction of being near a UNESCO World Heritage site. Pile is an area just outside the Old Town, offering five-star self catering apartments and flats whilst travellers on a budget will likely head over to the Lapad Peninsula to get the benefit of great value-for-money accommodation.

  1. Short Term Rentals for Families

An area that is particularly suited to family holidays in the Dubrovnik area is Lapad, which apart from being a good self catering destination, is also a residential suburb of Dubrovnik. The laid-back ambience of this area makes it ideal for longer family stays of one month or more. Some holiday apartments in Lapad offer parking facilities should you wish to hire a vehicle, although buses do run frequently into the city centre.

The Lapad Peninsula affords visitors the opportunity to enjoy beaches, coastal and woodland walks. You won’t be disappointed at the choice of self catering short term rentals in this area, with many beach side apartment blocks and villas with pools offering sea views and spacious accommodation.

  2. Short Term Rentals on a Budget

Dubrovnik is said to be the most expensive city in Croatia, which is no surprise given its historical importance and attractive sights. This means that travellers on a budget during the summer months will need to choose smaller accommodation to keep down costs. For those who are not limited to travelling at peak times, out-of-season visits during the autumn and winter months would be more affordable.

Staying a little further away from the city at Babin Kuk would be a good option for a budget break. It’s located at the northern end of the Lapad Peninsula, and because of its distance from the Old City and the fact that public transport links are fewer than in other areas of the city, this could be a good source of low-cost self catering accommodation. The area has a long pebble beach with umbrellas and beach chairs, plus water sports and cafes. Its wooded areas provide a varied landscape, as well as many interesting walks.

  3. Luxury Short Term Rentals

Private pools and breathtaking views are the order of the day if you stay in the area of Ploce, situated above the Old Town of Dubrovnik. A quiet neighbourhood offering luxurious surroundings, Ploce is also ideal for longer breaks of one or two months. It should be noted that vehicle access may be restricted to some of the self catering properties at the highest points of Ploce, but if that isn’t a problem you’ll be rewarded with the finest views.

Apart from Ploce, the Old Town has a great range of luxury holiday rentals that also offer stunning views of the sea and over the city rooftops. Proximity to all the main sights is also a bonus, with plenty of bus links to other areas should you wish to travel further afield.

  4. Short Term Rentals for Business

Business people staying in Dubrovnik have access to many high quality studio lets and apartments close to its cultural and business centre. The Old Town itself, plus the area just outside the Pile Gate, has a range of small studio and one bedroom apartments that would be perfect for short stays of one week or more.

For longer stays on business, Lapad is a part-residential area where you can hire apartments and even entire houses at a cost-effective nightly rate for your extended stay.

  5. Alternative Short Term Rentals

Staying in a former castle may not have been on your agenda, but the Hotel Kazbek, offers visitors to Dubrovnik the chance to do exactly that. It’s a small but beautiful place to stay, and the beaches of Lapad are just a stroll away.

Families looking for a cost-effective alternative to an apartment, might like Camping Solitude, which is situated close to the beach on the Babin Kuk peninsula, a ten minute drive from Dubrovnik city. The owners claim to have the only campsite in Dubrovnik, which is situated only 250 metres from a beach.
