Dublin is full of good quality accommodation for self catering visitors. Its wide appeal as a city means that tourists visit all year round, and the Temple Bar area near the centre is a particularly good area to stay if you’re looking for easy access to the main attractions. High quality loft apartments with views across Dublin, and larger houses with self-contained flats characterise the area. Slightly further away from the bustling centre, you’ll find plenty of townhouses and villas to rent for a short stay. Many of the townhouses in Dublin are of Georgian style, with colourful front doors and attractive façades, set around pretty squares and tree-lined streets.

Visitors with young children may like to stay to the north-west of Dublin in order to take advantage of the huge green space that is Phoenix Park. The park is also home to Dublin Zoo, which has a Victorian walled kitchen garden, tea room and tourist train. On a Budget
Visitors to Dublin who need budget accommodation have a good range of affordable options, with areas away from the centre being the best for price. Alternatively, visiting out of season may allow you to stay nearer the city centre at a reasonable cost.
With this in mind, although December is a popular time to visit Dublin, a month either side of Christmas would offer a reasonably-priced stay, even near the city centre. Opting for a small studio flat or one bedroom apartment would also help to keep the cost down. Throughout the city there are many supermarkets and farmers markets, allowing you to put together some affordable ‘home’ cooked meals.

For business
Staying in self catering accommodation that is close to the airport provides the opportunity to settle in quickly on arrival, and take advantage of the excellent public transport links into the city. An apartment would be perfect for single overnight stays, and you’ll be able to quickly return to the airport when business is complete.
For longer business trips of one month or more, the Temple Bar area has a good range of clean and comfortable apartments, along with restaurants and informal places to eat if you get tired of cooking, or want a change of scene. Whether you rent a studio flat or prefer a more spacious apartment with one or two bedrooms, you won’t be disappointed by the choice in Temple Bar.
