There are many places to dine in the region with traditional Moroccan eateries, cafes, restaurants and tea shops. There are several markets in the town including the Souk el Hamra, where visitors will find many gift items such as scarves, bags, shawls, hats and jewellery. Self catering holidaymakers will be able to buy food items from the markets too, with home produced items like chickpeas, eggs and almonds cheaper in the souks.

Places to visit on holiday to El Jadida, Morocco

There are a number of interesting places to visit in El Jadida and the village of Medina. The town itself has many old buildings including chapels and churches with the impressive Portuguese Cistern well worth visiting. The Safi region also boasts the National Ceramics Museum located in a 16th century citadel. One of the most photographed attractions in the region is the Dar el-Bahar, which is a castle construction located in the sea dating back to the 16th Century.  Another attraction worth visiting is the Kechla, which is a Portuguese fortress that was once a prison. Guided tours of other cities in Morocco such as Marrakech or Casablanca can be arranged as well as camel treks across the Sahara and taking in views of the Atlas Mountains.

The hottest time of the year in the Safi region is usually July and August when the average maximum high temperature is about 28 to 29 degrees centigrade.
