    Golf:

    Sao Lourenco Church:

In 1755 a devastating earthquake shook the Algarve, destroying almost every building. Somehow the Sao Lourenco Church withstood the quake and can be visited to this day. Loule:

Locals and tourists frequent the market hall in Loule to purchase local produce, meats and fish. On Saturdays, Loule comes alive with a weekly gypsy market. Handicrafts such as lace, pots and utensils are for sale, as are homemade delicacies.

The historic capital of the region, Faro, is only eight miles away and makes for an interesting day trip. Remnants of the original 13th century city walls and cathedral can be visited. Additionally, boats depart daily from the city centre for the islands of the Ria Formosa.
