    -Local history. In the village you can see the defensive tower of a fort dating to the 1100s. It’s preserved as an official historic monument. Lagrasse, which is listed as one of France’s most beautiful villages, is an easy drive away and boasts an 8th Century abbey, a charming old town, with defensive walls and bridges from the middle ages.

    -Coast. The nearest beaches are a short drive way at the resort of Leucate. There are eight sandy beaches to pick from here, but the best for families is the main beach, Leucate Plage, which is sheltered from the wind by a cliff and offers two beach clubs.
