    Things to do

-Kamenjak beach. This beach is considered among the best in Istria. It’s within the Cape Kamenkaj nature reserve and is fringed by pine forest. It’s a series of pebble bays, punctuated by rocky outcrops and bookended cliffs. Thanks to the many coves on the cape it’s always possible to find a beach to yourself here.

-Watersports. At this location, on the exposed southern tip of Istria, you’ll be surrounded by the sea on three sides, which creates uniquely favourable conditions for activities like kiteboarding and windsurfing, thanks to the good winds and currents. It’s also possible to charter a sailboat nearby in Medulin, to explore the small islands of the coast.

-Diving. Away from the more exposed waters a short drive around the coast are some world-class dive sites. There are six dive centres in Pula alone, providing trips to interesting underwater features like a 100-year-old shipwreck, archaeological sites and an underwater cave system.

-Pula. This city is packed with historical importance and definitely warrants the short trip from Premantura. There’s an early Christian church from the 500s, as well as an assortment of earlier Roman ruins. One of the undoubted highlights is the 2,000 year-old arena, still mostly intact and one of the biggest in the world.

-Brijuni. Boat trips to this national park are available from Pula and Fazana. It comprises an archipelago, the largest island of which boasts the ruins of a Roman villa, a safari park, which was formed by former dictator Tito’s menageries, as well as a citadel from the 1500s, which today houses an archaeological museum.
