    Things to do

-Nature: The White Cliffs of Dover are a major attraction. Deal lies right in the heart of White Cliffs Country, making it the ideal base to explore this stunning slice of England; they really must be seen in person to appreciate their beauty. Within easy walking distance from many of the Deal holiday apartments close to the sea, visitors to Deal and Dover will have a variety of viewing options, including walking.  A stroll along the cliffs themselves is a delightful way to spend an afternoon. On a clear day it’s often possible to spot the coast of France out in the distance.

-History: Deal Castle overlooks the North Sea just steps away from the beach, and is the town’s most famous landmark.  Commissioned by Henry VIII, it's a fine example of a Tudor Castle and something that can be enjoyed by visitors of all ages.

-Activities: Fishing is a good way to spend time in Deal. The port has strong maritime roots and continues to be a favourite spot for anglers. Built in the 1950s, Deal Pier is the best spot in town for dropping a line. The waters around the pier are filled with all sorts of fish, including bass and mackerel. Fishing excursions are also available from nearby Dover and they head out into the English Channel where larger fish can be caught. Most trips last a few hours and bring visitors back to land in time for dinner.

-Museums: Deal Maritime & Local History Museum might be small, but it is an excellent place to learn about the region’s history. It is located right in the heart of town, near many Deal holiday cottages. The building dates back to 1803 and is right behind the Deal Town Hall. The museum tells the story of Deal and how it grew into a wealthy town during the Industrial Revolution thanks to its seaside location.

-Beaches: Walmer Beach provides one of the easiest and most enjoyable Things to do in Deal: a simple stroll along the beach. A road lined with beautiful 18th- and 19th-century buildings, including several Deal holiday homes, runs adjacent to the beach, but the scenery grows more rural just south of the centre of town. Lined with small pebbles, grasses, and a bit of sand, the beach is a favourite weekend spot for locals and visitors alike.
