    Ledro is a beautiful town in northern Italy that rises above the lake of the same name. Lake Ledro is smaller than its near neighbour Lake Garda being three kilometres in length and one kilometre wide. Situated 655 metres above sea level, the environment is rich with spectacular views and offers a variety of ways to enjoy the outdoors such as hiking and sailing. Ledro is a new town that was formed in 2010 by a union of Tiarno di Sopra, Molina di Ledro, Bezzecca, Concei, Pieve di Ledro and Tiarno di Sotto.

    -Museums: In 1929 a stilt house village dating from the Bronze Age was discovered in the area. The Museum of the Stilt House is an educational journey into the life and culture of the village and contains many everyday items that are 4,000 years old. There is also a recreation of a stilt house village by the lakeshore.

    -Watersports: Lake Ledro is situated to the east of Lake Garda and hosts numerous watersports including swimming, sailing, canoeing, windsurfing and fishing. Daily and weekly fishing licenses are available from the Valle di Ledro tourist office. Rowing boats, sailing boats, pedaloes and canoes can be rented from the lake’s beaches.

    -Walking and trekking: There are walking paths and nature trails around the lake that cross pine woods, and are suitable for all levels of abilities. More strenuous hikes can be taken along the nearby mountain peaks. The Path of Peace along the peaks of Val Concei go past Austrian military trenches that were dug out during WW1.
