    Niagara-on-the-Lake was first settled in 1792 making it one of Canada’s oldest settlements and was incorporated as a town in 1792. In 1798 the town was named Niagara and in 1880 this became Niagara-on-the-Lake so as to distinguish it from the nearby town of Niagara Falls. The historic town has retained much of its character and it’s this character that attracts many visitors to stay in accommodation in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

    There are many historic buildings to visit (see below), but the area is also great for walking, and cycling, enjoying the riverside paths.
