Make a holiday cottage in Adsubia your home away from home

If you want all the fun and activities of the Costa del Azahar and the Costa Blanca by day, but would like to return to a peaceful and remote setting in the evening, then a holiday cottage in Adsubia would fit the bill. Nestled in the mountains, minutes from the coast, Adsubia holiday homes are traditional country houses, often benefitting from knockout views. Interiors are traditional, with antique furniture and stone walls, while you can enjoy the warm summer weather from the comfort of a private garden. Adsubia cottages are just a short drive from theme parks, restaurants, watersports, golf courses and sublime Mediterranean beaches.

    Things to do

-Beach. The local beach, Playa de Oliva is truly astounding. It's a seemingly endless stretch of white sand, ranging between 30 and 100 metres deep. Facing south you'll see the distinctive wedge-shaped peak of Montgo in the distance. The facilities and services here are also excellent, with sun bed hire and numerous places to buy refreshments.

-Golf. Mere minutes from the village of Adsubia is Club de Golf Oliva Nova, which was designed by Seve Ballesteros. The 18-hole course features long fairways and lots of water hazards. There's also a pitch and putt course here. Another course, La Sella Golf is less than 20 minutes away and has a beautiful setting, right next to the Montgo Natural Park.

-Watersports. For a choice of water-based activities you could make for the nearby resorts of Javea or Gandia. The latter's northern beach is a little more exposed, creating ideal conditions for windsurfing - and there's a school here providing lessons and equipment hire. In Javea you'll find a dive centre, jet-ski rental, as well as companies offering sea kayak hire and excursions.

-Cuisine. Rice dishes are very popular in the Valencian community, and it was here that paella, one of Spain's most famous culinary exports, was first created. Thanks to the high number of fishing ports, seafood and fish are a staple in the Alicante province - prawns, mullet, bream, sea bass, mussels and lobster are all excellent here.

-Days out. The resort of Benidorm is a comfortable drive away, featuring four theme parks aimed at families. Terra Natura is an animal-themed attraction, with animals like elephants, monkeys and lions kept in open enclosures. Terra Mitica is a large theme park, with lots of roller coasters and water rides. Aqualandia and Mundomar are sister attractions - the former is a water park, and the latter is a marine animal attraction.
