    Things to do

-Beaches. The beaches on the Fazana waterfront tend to be narrow and consist of gravel. At any rate they’re good for families – in fact there’s a Children’s Beach here, so-called for its shallow water and easy access. Puntizela is one of the best beaches in the area, complemented by a camp site and boasting a broad bay backed by forest.

-Brijuni. Fazana is the point of departure for boat trips and cruises to the Brijuni Islands National Park, which is a hop across a narrow channel from the town. You can visit the largest island, Veliki Brijun, to see sights like the dictator, Tito’s former residence and car, the beautiful 13th Century St Mary’s Church, Roman Ruins and fabulous beaches.

-Pula. This city simply must be visited by anybody holidaying in Fazana, especially if you have an interest in Roman history. The world’s sixth largest Roman Arena is found here, and there are two gates, a forum and a triumphal arch to admire, all of which are impressively preserved.

-Diving. Thanks to the warm sea temperatures, underwater geology and variety of marine life, the Istrian coast is a growing destination for diving – there are six dive centres in nearby Pula. Trips offered include shipwrecks like the Baron Gautsch, an Austrian passenger ship that sank a hundred years ago.

-Kamenjak Cape. This headland extends from the southern tip of Istria and is only a few minutes away in the car. There’s evidence of human settlement here, dating back 6,000 years in the form of huge megalithic structures. It has a number of walking trails, and the rugged coastline conceals picturesque little coves.

    Weather in Fazana

Located right next to the Adriatic, Fazana has a climate that is normal for a Mediterranean region. If you get to a Fazana apartment in the summer then warm, sunny weather with almost no rainfall is what you can expect. From May to October daily temperatures exceed 25 degrees, hitting the thirties at the height of summer. As the year progresses temperatures tail off and there’s more rainfall. Winters are moderate, with highs still getting up to ten degrees even in the middle of the season.

    Travel to Fazana

Pula (PUY) is the airport you can use to reach your Fazana holiday home. It’s a few kilometres inland by car and is connected to a small number of UK airports, with the majority of routes available only in the summer season. A different way to get to Pula would be by sea, there are hydrofoil and ferry services from various Italian cities, including Trieste and Venice, and the voyage is worth it for the coastal views alone. Those two Italian cities also have bus links to Pula.
