Other historic remains can be seen at Berati with its imposing hilltop castle, and at Durresi where there is a Roman amphitheatre. Lake Komani is a beautiful place to visit, with its pygmy cormorants and other wildlife. Take the ferry from your Albania holiday rental and enjoy the boat trip. For a more adventurous ride, the Osumi River offers spectacular canyons and white-water rafting trips. Weather in Albania

Albania enjoys a Mediterranean climate. The coastal plains have hot dry summers and winters are mild but wet. The high mountains have a much cooler, wetter climate with plenty of winter snow. In the capital, Tirana, in the centre of the country, temperatures range from 17-31°C (63-88°F) in July and 2-21°C (36-54°F) in the winter.

Travel to Albania

Albania’s main airport is the Tirana International (TIA) Airport which is 25km (16 miles) outside the capital. There is a regular bus service from the airport to Tirana and taxis are also available. British Airways and the national airline, Albanian Airlines, have regular flights from London Gatwick to Tirana, Albania. The flight takes 3 hours.
