Visit the capital town of Pothia on your trip to Kalymnos. This small city is home to the Archipelago of Kalymnos, as well as several cultural and historical sites. The Archaeological Museum of Kalymnos and the Cathedral of the Transfiguration of Jesus are of particular interest. The cathedral features sculptures by renowned Greek sculptor Giannoulis Chalepas.


Visit the various caves on Kalymnos, part of the island's rich geological formations. The cave at Skalia contains breathtaking stalactites and stalagmites, and is accessible from the town of Skalia. Kefala is on located the southwest corner of the island. It is 260 feet long with six rooms and a stalagmite said to look like Jupiter on a throne.
