Make a holiday apartment in L’Albir your home away from home

There’s a choice of apartments and holiday homes in L’Albir listed on HomeAway – and we can make it easier to find the rental that suits you. Not far from Benidorm and its theme parks, water parks and other entertainment, this resort has a sublime Blue Flag beach, with three others just a few minutes away. L’Albir holiday homes are recent constructions, tastefully furnished, and thoughtfully laid-out for families, with easy access to local amenities. There’s also respite from the summer heat at L’Albir apartments – air-conditioning and private pools are standard facilities here.

    Things to do

-Beach. The main beach at Albir is a 500-metre stretch of fine white pebbles, which is perfectly comfortable to walk on and has the added advantage in summer of staying cooler than the sandy beaches in the area. The beach is equipped with sunbed and parasol hire, and offers a range of activities; beachside and in the water.

-Golf. The Costa Blanca is known for its many high-quality golf courses, and Albir is no exception. Villaitana, just outside Benidorm, is one of the closest clubs, boasting two high-end courses designed by Jack Nicklaus, in an undulating landscape, with views of both the Mediterranean and inland mountains. Even closer is Las Rejas, a nine-hole course that’s perfect for newcomers.

-Family attractions. Located close to Benidorm there’s a choice of fun-packed days out. There’s Terra Mitica, a theme park with rides inspired by ancient mythology, or Aqualandia, a state-of-the-art waterpark with slides and amusements for all ages. Mundomar is just next door to Aqualandia – it’s a marine animal park, with shows and demonstrations by dolphins, sea lions and other species.

-Local history. To see a traditional Spanish town in a good state of preservation you can make the short trip to neighbouring Altea, which has a delightful old quarter, known as the Fornet. It sits on a hillside offering views of the coast, and has a tangle of cobbled alleys lined with whitewashed buildings housing restaurants and local shops. Look out for Our Lady of Consolation Church, with its ornate dome.

-Watersports. If you’d like to add a little action to your days at the beach, then Albir has a watersports centre offering a wide choice of activities in summer. There are banana boats and donut rides, or individual sports like windsurfing, parasailing, waterskiing and sea kayaking. For something a little more sedate you can take a guided boat trip to explore some of the Costa Blanca’s beautiful coastline.

    Weather in L’Albir

The Costa Blanca has a warm Mediterranean climate. Summers here are long, hot and dry, beginning in early-May and lasting through to late-October. At the start it’s normal to see highs in the low-20s, and these climb steadily to the low-30s in July and August. There’s almost no rainfall until the end of the season. In fact much of the annual precipitation is concentrated into two short periods, in autumn and early spring. Winters are very mild in this part of Spain – on an average day in December temperatures get up to 18 degrees and don’t fall to anywhere near freezing at night.
