Make a holiday rental villa or apartment in Montenegro your home away from home

Montenegro is often overlooked when thinking of Mediterranean holidays, which is surprising when considering what a delight the country is. Situated to the south of the Adriatic, there are extremely few places with such a concentration natural beauty, delightful beaches flowing rivers, and inspiring wood covered mountains, not to mention an enviable culture. Montenegro holidays are one of my personal favourites, with so much to offer, such a rich culture and such an unassuming atmosphere.

Places to holiday in Montenegro

When looking for beach accommodation in Montenegro, a fantastic option is Budva. With 20 beaches along 12km of sand, the sun from May until the beginning of November makes the ‘Budva Riviera’ a place to either relax in a secluded cove or party on one of Budva’s ‘party beaches’ like Jaz. Budva is not just about the beaches though, the Old Town is a unique architectural location with magnificent restaurants, bars and cafes to indulge in local cuisine and culture.

Kotor is not to be missed either. It is located at the head of Montenegro’s most beautiful bay. A city of traders and sailors, it has many tales to tell, buildings to marvel at and important cultural sites, which has resulted in the old city of Kotor being named a UNESCO World Heritage site. Every year, a number of festivals and carnivals bring the city to life, and if you are considering renting holiday accommodation in Montenegro, Kotor is not to be missed.

The Island of Sveti Stefan has become a glamorous, luxurious summer retreat, where the beaches are perfectly complimented by the blissful natural surroundings.

Things to do in Montenegro

With an immense range of landscapes, a holiday to Montenegro can be designed exactly as you would like it to be. Beaches, lakes, mountains and canyons can all be explored, marvelled at and enjoyed in one day from a Montenegro holiday apartment, villa or property. Dotted across the country, both in historic cities and the unspoilt rural sanctuaries, invaluable historic monuments can be found.

The seasons have a distinct affect on the type of holiday in Montenegro. The coastal regions and road are a delight for beach goers, cyclists and walkers during the warm summers, but the snow fuelled winters create a skiing haven during the winter. During both seasons though, a strong trend in adrenaline fuelled adventure sports has grown as an activity choice from self catering Montenegro holiday accommodation.

Weather in Montenegro

The weather in Montenegro is perfect. Ideal for lazy summer holidays to Montenegro, and ideal for renting a holiday apartment in winter for the snow sports. Summer temperatures in June, July, August and September are between 25°C and 28°C, whilst from December to January, temperatures drop to an average of 5°C, when the snow falls.
