Chania Old Town:

The charming Old Town of Chania is something to be enjoyed. Narrow, winding streets are dotted with shops, restaurants, and cafés where travellers can stroll and relax. This part of Chania was established by the Venetians and one can definitely see and feel the Italian influence.

The Fortress of Frangokastello:

The Frangokastello Fortress was built between the period 1371 - 1374 BC and was set up along the coast as a military base for the Venetian army. It is rectangular in shape with massive towers at the corner, and there is an impressive gate with the Venetian coat of arms.

Oldest Lighthouse in Greece:

Greece's oldest lighthouse can be found in the old harbour of Chania. This, like much of the city, was originally constructed by the Venetians. However when the Turks ruled the city, they bequeathed Crete to the Egyptians. Parts of this lighthouse were rebuilt to suit their style, making the lighthouse truly unique.

The Beach of Platanias is located approximately seven miles from Chania. It is one of Crete's most developed beach and resort areas.
