Morbihan, France

Morbihan, France is the middle of the five departments of Brittany, North France. The area is bordered by Ille-et-Vilaine, Cotes-d-Armor and Finistere. Morbihan is a famous site for its impressive megalithic sites, which predate the Egyptian Pyramids and Stonehenge in Britain. The area is dotted with menhirs and dolmens, the origins of which are still not certain. Many believe they are ancient maps of constellations, some that they are an early calendar and others that they are memorials, but the mysterious rocks are certainly impressive. French gites in Morbihan give you access to fine beaches, unspoiled rural areas, with rivers full of fish and forests teaming with deer and wild boar. The distinctive Brittany cottages are beautiful places to rent if you are looking for rental accommodation in Morbihan.
