    Patti is a small coastal town in the northeast of Sicily, well known for its beaches, historic buildings and medieval streets. The centre of Patti was founded in 1094, and though rebuilt several times over the years, traces of its ancient past are clearly in evident in the narrow medieval lanes, alleys and stone churches.  Ancient Roman ruins can also be seen in the area.  Patti sits on the Golfo di Patti, a large broad sandy bay with beautiful clear water.  Over the centuries the Romans, Greeks, Normans, Arabs and Spanish have all called this place home.
