It is a village at the foot of a mountain towards the north of Fuerteventura, which is one of the Canary Islands a few miles off the Southern coast of mainland Spain.     The nearest beach to Tindaya is Playa de la Mujer, which is quite large and much quieter than many other beaches on the island. Holidaymakers can sunbathe here and while the sea is ok to swim in, visitors should be wary of the water conditions as it can be quite windy here. There are plenty of watersports to try on the coast such as wind surfing, sailing and fishing. There is one 18-hole golf course on the island at the popular resort of Caleta de Fuste. Another way to get about is by taking one of several boat excursions including one on a glass bottomed boat. There are just a few bars and restaurants serving excellent Spanish cuisine in Tindaya.
