Make a holiday apartment in Cape Marco your home away from home

Cape Marco holiday apartments are sited on the southern tip of Marco Island, one of the most desirable destinations on Florida's Gulf Coast. Rentals in Cape Marco are perfectly positioned to access all the island's attractions, and being right on the beach, guests only have to step out of their front doors to enjoy the expansive pool and BBQ areas, tennis courts, and pristine snow-white sand. Boat rentals are also convenient from Cape Marco holiday accommodation (from any one of the many marinas), and boats are an ideal way to get around the island's latticework of waterways. Each Cape Marco rental comes fully equipped with all the mod cons to make any stay as hassle-free as possible.

        Things to do

-Beaches: At the southern tip of Marco Island, Cape Marco holiday apartments are at one end of the whitest beach, stretching miles north. If tourists hire or charter a boat, more secluded beaches are available on the literally hundreds of uninhabited islands decorating this stretch of coast.

-Watersports: Proximity to both the sea and Everglades means holidaymakers have more watersport options than they can easily shake a fishing rod at. Marco Island abounds with marinas and surf shops, so boat/equipment hires and charters are easy to come by and the wealth of choice is definitely in the tourist’s favour.

-Shopping: Most don’t tend to think of Marco Island as a shopping destination, but they’d be wrong. There are several attractive shopping hubs to dally in, whether to accrue some serious souvenirs or simply browse the day away. The Esplanade Shoppes Mall, Marco Walk Shopping Centre, and Marco Town Centre Mall all have an overabundance of eclectic boutiques to explore.

-Golf: Naples, the self-styled 'Golf Capital of the World' has more golf courses than, well, anywhere. It lies just to the north of Marco Island. With almost 80 championship courses, it's a nirvana for golfers, and the weather couldn't be better for a round, in either the summer or winter!

-Nightlife: Marco Island has a typically laid-back vibe: it’s quite residential and beach-orientated. Pottering about on boats is preferable to wild nights on the lash, and the facilities reflect this mindset. Nice bars and restaurants are plentiful, however, as are more affordable establishments, so every budget is catered to.

        Weather in Cape Marco

Florida has a humid, subtropical climate, moderated by being adjacent to so much water. The summers are hot and long, while the winters are short and warm. Precipitation falls mainly as thunderstorms from June to September. The maximum temperatures in the summer hover around the mid-30°C mark, though this is a sticky, humid heat that can feel hotter. Subsequently, the frequent thunderstorms can provide welcome relief. Winter max temps tend to hit the low-20s, explaining Florida's year-round appeal.

        Travel to Cape Marco

Fly/drive is almost always the best option when travelling to America, thanks to its car-centric infrastructure, and Marco Island is no different. Southwest Florida International Airport is the nearest at 47 miles away, though there are no direct flights to Europe or the UK. Miami is a better bet, at 120 miles away, with direct flights and convenient highway access. Of course, while 120 miles may seem far, the highway system is so efficient Americans think little of driving such a distance. Marco island has no rail or bus facilities.
