Florida's weather established its reputation as America's holiday destination. The profusion of water around moderates temperates, preventing the extremes you see in drier inland areas. With maximum thermometer readings rarely reaching the mid 30s Celsius in the long summers, air-conditioning isn't so much a necessity, more a luxury. The winters are ideal for the British holidaymaker, with temps and rainfall about the same as our summers. The very occasional cold snap only occurs one or two days a year, if at all, and the sunsets are to die for.
