Bas-Rhin in the Lorraine, an incredible historic province in eastern France is where the Franco-Prussian war between France and Germany that was fought.   There are many clay vales in the area consisting of limestone ridges of the Cotes de Moselle and Cotes de Meuse. Other times you’ll run into graceful 18th-century architecture. In Strasbourg do not miss the fabulous pink-sandstone 12th-century Gothic cathedral that you can view in the centre of its old town.

While walking, hiking, biking and even the riding horses is possible throughout the Alsace, Lorraine & Vosges area; we must not forget that it is the centre of incredible French cooking.
