Make a holiday villa in St. Teresa your home away from home

For a quiet Florida Gulf Coast getaway, holiday villas in St. Teresa provide the perfect opportunity to unwind away from the hustle and bustle of more boisterous holiday locations. With miles of sugar-white beaches and vast tracts of nature preserves and state parks to explore, St. Teresa holiday accommodation provides the perfect retreat from a hectic work life. St. Teresa rentals are all air-conditioned and equipped with BBQ facilities, most are family friendly, and have satellite or cable TV. A select few also have access to a pool and the internet.

    Things to do

-Beaches: Around five miles of snow-white beach lie adjacent to St. Teresa accommodation, with more further afield either by boat to the barrier islands or car (or even bicycle) to Bald Point State Park. The glorious beaches of Carrabelle are also within easy reach, about 15 miles to the southwest.

-Nature: St. Teresa holiday apartments and villas are sandwiched between the recreational areas of the huge Apalachicola National Forest and the Gulf Coast, so beach days can quite easily alternate with nature walks, wildlife watching, kayak, canoe and fishing trips, or even overnight camping.

-Watersports: Unless guests bring their own gear, watersport equipment needs to be hired from merchants further afield. Carrabelle has some outlets around 15 miles to the southwest, while the sizeable city of Tallahassee, less than an hour away, can provide a wider selection.

-Nightlife: St. Teresa is a very quiet and laid-back resort with precious little in the way of evening diversions beyond what nature offers. Carrabelle, 15 miles to the southwest, has a few basic eateries and drinking holes, while Ochlockonee Bay about ten miles northeast offers a couple of more options.

-History: This area of the Florida coast has some interesting history to explore. Crooked River Lighthouse, for example, is a fine 19th-century example. And Dog Island, along with the Camp Gordon Johnston WWII training facility, provided a facsimile of Normandy for WWII beach landing practice.

    Weather in St. Teresa

The high season in Florida is the winter, with temperatures reaching the low-20s°C and very little rainfall. This contrasts with the mid-30s of the low season summer; often unpopular because the humidity can make the heat uncomfortable and leads to frequent afternoon and evening thunderstorms. This can be misleading, however: America's love affair with air-conditioning means significant time rarely needs to be spent in the unpleasant afternoon heat, and beach/nature holiday experiences can quite easily be accomplished in the cooler morning temperatures.
