Binidali - Binidali and a little bit beyond

Binidali is a very small, quiet village in Menorca, ideal for chilling. There is a small, secluded very safe beach and a small bar/restaurant in the village serving food, drinks, ice cream which also has wifi access.

San Climente is the nearest town and is just a 5 minute drive away. Here you will find banks, excellent bakeries, etc., a very good Spar supermarket, a delightful café and several restaurants and bars, for a more formal dining experience try Es Moli de Foc, a typical Menorcan restaurant tucked away down one of the narrow streets behind the church with a pretty courtyard for outdoor dining.

Along the coast road is the very pretty beach of Binisafua, another beach ideal for families with very young children. Another five minutes and you will come to the resort of Binibeca with a beautiful beach with rustic beach bar set on the rocks overlooking the sea, there are sunbeds to hire and a few watersports. A walk along the sea front will bring you to the diving centre with qualified instructors and diving shop, although the attraction for us is the restaurant/bar next door- Bar Paupa,- serving excellent food all day with live jazz and candlelight in the evening.

Mahon, the capital City, is just a 10 minute drive away. An excellent selection of shops, original fishmarket, bars and restaurants in the centre. The Port of Mahon is the second deepest natural harbour in the world after Pearl Harbour and the sight of the enormous cruise liners pulling up alongside always amazes. It is a delight to walk along the port side, hundreds of yachts moored up, dozens of bars and restaurants and a variety of shops. At the height of summer it is buzzing, sit outside one of the many bars with a glass of chilled Cava and people watch. We like Café Maritime for breakfast, coffee, lunch or a night cap– they have WiFi service here along with internet facilities. A favourite restaurant is Wepi, a different menu with an eastern influence. La Mar and Mambo Bar have a great atmosphere at night.

Calas Font is a small fishing harbour set down by the sea in Es Castell, just a 10 minute drive from Binidali. Idyllic and quiet during the day for a peaceful lunch or take a trip on a glass bottom boat. It comes into its own on summer evenings when market stalls set up along the seafront walls selling crafts and jewellery, etc. Lots of restaurants and bars here, buzzing later on in the evening when the Spanish appear. Miramar for great tapas, Vell Parrander for fantastic seafood , their specialities are lobster dishes but all the fish and seafood is exquisite. Tutti Music Bar next door is great for a drink, here you can sit in the early evening and watch the boats that have been at sea all day come back into the Port, a lovely sight. Go down the steps at the end of the harbour and walk along to the Margarita Bar, great tapas here, lovely atmosphere. Again there are too many to mention so we hope you enjoy exploring.
