    Things to do

-Beaches. One of Ibiza's most beautiful coves is on the coast near Roca Llisa. Cala Olivera is a tranquil rocky nook with clear, shallow waters that are especially inviting on hot days. It remains absent from most itineraries, which makes it quiet, even mid-summer. More established choices include Cala Llonga, Santa Eulalia and the long, sandy bay at Talamanca.

-Outdoor activities. The area around Roca Llisa has escaped the large-scale development of other parts of the island, which means you can set off on a walking or cycling trip across pine-covered hillsides or next to picturesque coves. On the water, kayaking is a fabulous way to explore the island's bays and shallow, turquoise waters, with adventure sports companies taking large groups on excursions.

-Ibiza Town. Perhaps the best reason to head down to the island's capital is to see the UNESCO-listed architecture of Dalt Vila. It's a hilltop citadel, protected by renaissance walls and gates. Inside there's a gothic cathedral from the 1300s, an episcopal palace, as well as the town hall, which was once a Dominican convent. Ibiza Town also features a host of chic boutiques and dining locations.

-Golf. Ibiza's only golf courses are just a stone's throw from Roca Llisa. Club de Golf Ibiza boasts a nine-hole course that dates back 20 years or so, but also recently introduced another 18-hole course. It's a private club, but non-members are also welcome. Facilities include a driving range, restaurant, bar and pro shop.

-Day trips. If you're feeling adventurous you could make your way to the south western corner of Ibiza, home to some of the island's most craggy coast, where there are waterfront footpaths, secluded coves, as well as Ibiza's tallest peak, which is just inland at Sant Josep. For nightlife there's always Sant Antoni, home to venues like Cafe del Mar, where you can catch stunning sunsets in the evenings.
