Located 80km north of Split, right in the heart of the Dalmatian Coast is Sibenik, a town made famous by the huge monuments of the Cathedral Sveti Jakov and Fortress of St Nicola, whose images adorn the front of many travel guides to the area. Located on a natural harbour, there is a strong maritime atmosphere to Sibenik, especially during the surprisingly warm summers when the seafront becomes the areas focal point.

The old town of Sibenik is a great place to spend the day on foot. The steep, narrow and twisting streets of the old town are filled with attractive monuments and lively restaurants and cafes, making it a perfect place to relax and indulge in a little Croatian culture.
